Tamperelainen reports that the Tampere Region Public Transport Committee has approved the preliminary superbuss plan for lines 7 and 8, with Line 7 Käräjätörmä–Tesoma–Kalkku–Center–Hakametsä–Linnainmaa and Line 8 Haukiluoma–Tesoma–Center–Kaukajärvi–Annala, Kaipanen; service is planned to start on 7 August 2028, with Line 7 via open tender and Line 8 via single-supplier arrangement with Tampereen Kaupunkiliikenne Oy; procurement agreements are expected in autumn 2026, and Line 4 is set to transfer to Tampereen Kaupunkiliikenne Oy with plans to convert it to superbuss in the 2030s.

Nyssen announced a major Tampere region transit reform to take effect in August 2028, introducing superbus lines 7 and 8, expanding the tram network from Sorin Square to Partola, and ending several Nyssen operating contracts

The plan covers the entire Tampere region with a focus on South Tampere and Pirkkala, and it will be developed through broad resident engagement including surveys and events. Authorities are compiling detailed data on ridership, population, workplaces, and mobility needs to inform the overhaul

According to transit planner Leena Huhtala, previous line changes show that ridership grows where services are improved, and Nyssen’s values — easy, carefree, renewing, developing, impactful and responsible — guide the planning. She adds that customer feedback and participation help shape a network residents can own

The first planning phase starts in spring, with a draft of the new network to be published for resident comment in early autumn. Final decisions are expected by the end of 2026, and the new timetable is set to be implemented in August 2028

Aamulehti reports that the plan was presented to the Tampere region transport committee on March 4, adding a concrete briefing date to the timeline.

According to Tamperelainen, the Tampere Region Public Transport Committee has approved the preliminary superbuss plan for Nyssen's lines 7 and 8, detailing the routes: Line 7 runs Käräjätörmä–Tesoma–Kalkku–Center–Hakametsä–Linnainmaa and Line 8 runs Haukiluoma–Tesoma–Center–Kaukajärvi–Annala, Kaipanen.

Tamperelainen adds that service for these lines is slated to begin on 7 August 2028, in line with Nyssen’s timetable. The plan also specifies procurement for Line 7 via an open tender, while Line 8 will be handled under a single-supplier arrangement with Tampereen Kaupunkiliikenne Oy, with procurement agreements expected in autumn 2026.

Tamperelainen notes that Line 4 is set to transfer to Tampereen Kaupunkiliikenne Oy, with plans to convert Line 4 to superbuss service in the 2030s.

Nyssen line planners will be in Tampere evenings to meet residents: Peltolammi on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, 17:00–19:00; Nekala on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, 17:00–19:00; Kaukajärvi on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, 17:00–19:00.
