Orivesi launches fast recruitment to replace long-serving city manager
Orivesi city manager Juha Kuusisto has resigned and will retire in early 2028. The city aims to appoint his successor by next summer.
Juha Kuusisto has submitted his resignation and plans to retire at the start of 2028. His last working day is expected in summer 2027, when he begins annual leave.
The city will launch a fast recruitment to replace him, YLE reports.
Heidi Jakara, chair of the city board (Social Democrats), said the aim is to move quickly so a successor can be in place by next summer. The city estimates the recruitment will take at least six months.
The city board will consider Kuusisto’s resignation and prepare the job’s qualification requirements at its 19 October meeting. The city council is due to decide on the resignation and the qualification criteria on 26 October. A decision on the formal application and selection process is expected in October or November.
Kuusisto has served as Orivesi’s city manager since early 2003. Before that he worked as administrative manager in Ilmajoki and as municipal secretary in Karvia.
The announcement follows the city’s recent cooperation negotiations over its finance staff which the city opened on 12 October.
