Parking near Sarviksen Lähitori vanishes during year-long build
Nearly all parking in front of Sarviksen Lähitori in Tampere's Hatanpää has disappeared due to a year-long construction project, Aamulehti reports.
The paper notes that the area is now dominated by a construction site and only five customer parking spots remain at the building's end. The building will accommodate municipal health services, including podiatry and diabetes care, increasing the impact on visitors.
The construction will last about a year, and parking will not revert to normal until completion, Halonen says. Public transit can bring visitors near the hospital stop, but walking 100 meters is challenging, especially for those using a walker in snow. Service transport can reach Sarviksen to some extent, but it operates like taxi service and may require up to two hours of waiting, making accessibility difficult
