Design plans for a full renovation of the Pikku Kakkonen playground in Kyttälä's Koskipuisto are on display from 19 October to 2 November 2026, and residents are invited to comment.

The design draft is available online, on-site at the Rongankatu edge of the playground and on a screen at the Tampere service point, Aleksis Kiven katu 14–16 C. A short presentation video by city gardener Timo Koski explains the repair needs and how residents can send feedback.

Key changes include themed play zones inspired by Pikku Kakkonen characters, new seating and picnic spots, and a multifunctional central stage for small events. Lighting and pathways would be upgraded, and safety surfacing installed in theme colours. The well-liked blue climbing net will remain. The existing fence will be repainted, artificial turf mounds removed, and accessible play equipment added. Extra trees are planned, along with a dog toilet on Kyttälänkatu. The plan emphasises accessibility, ecology and shade while avoiding high-maintenance surfaces and protecting existing trees.

The proposal follows earlier playground drafts this year, including the Emil Aaltonen Park draft and the park's closure for renovation earlier this autumn.
