Pirkanmaa daily home care visit records to appear on OmaKanta by end of 2026

Daily home care visit records for Pirkanmaa clients will appear on the national OmaKanta portal by the end of 2026. Tamperelainen reports the Pirkanmaa welfare area rolled out two new systems, Hilkka and Saga, on 4 May to standardise home care across the region.

Saga holds client data, service decisions and care plans. Its rollout for elderly services took place in stages: some units switched in February, the rest in May.

Hilkka is used to plan visits and to allow mobile, on-site recording. The welfare area's own service production and Mäntänvuori Terveys are already on the new platforms.

Officials say clients may notice practical changes such as different visit time windows, a change of primary nurse, or staff using phones more during visits to record information. The region previously ran dozens of different client information systems; the unified platforms will align working methods, improve service steering and monitoring, and cut long-term maintenance costs.

"Even if the time window or primary nurse changes, the client will receive all services according to their service plan. We thank our customers for their patience as our professionals learn the new systems and new recording methods," said Minna Kuusela, the responsible director of social welfare.

Other client data, like decisions and applications, will appear in OmaKanta as soon as they are entered; no action is required from clients.
