Pirkanmaa to move hospitals and health centres onto OmaPirha November 6–9
Pirkanmaa's specialized healthcare will switch to the same patient record system used by primary care from 6–9 November, replacing OmaTays with OmaPirha and moving bookings and appointment messages to Suomi.fi.
From 6–9 November, Pirkanmaa's specialized healthcare will move onto the same patient record system used by primary care across the region, replacing the OmaTays service and shifting digital patient interactions to OmaPirha, Tamperelainen reports. The change follows an October notice that appointments and reminders would move to Suomi.fi and OmaPirha.
Officials say the single system is intended to improve information flow between health centres and hospitals and to strengthen patient safety. There may be delays in reception and phone services while the change is implemented. Urgent care remains guaranteed, and Tays services will operate normally. From 9 November, bookings will appear only in OmaPirha and appointment notices will be sent via Suomi.fi messages. Patients are advised to check their contact details and digital consent in OmaPirha. The reform will delay invoicing of specialized care fees by about four weeks and is expected to harmonize procedures and reduce costs over time.
