Pirkanmaa Left Alliance to Expel Board Member Mika Tammi After Posts Trigger Police Probe
Pirkanmaa Left Alliance will vote at an extraordinary meeting on 9 September to remove board member Mika Tammi after social-media posts by Tammi prompted a police investigation.
The district will vote at an extraordinary meeting on 9 September to remove Mika Tammi from the board, local daily Aamulehti said. The move follows social media posts by Tammi that prompted a police investigation.
Central Finland Police said it is examining online messages that could meet the elements of a criminal offence, including alleged threats aimed at police, other authorities and politicians. Ilta-Sanomat reported that some of the posts targeted Social Affairs and Health Minister Wille Rydman (Finns Party).
Veera Kiretti, chair of the district board, told Aamulehti by text that the party "immediately started the process to end the membership" when the posts became known and that the organisation does not accept any form of violence.
The extraordinary meeting will be held remotely. Local chapter chairs have been notified of delegate numbers and told proxies may attend with full voting rights. The initial invitation did not name the member under consideration or list the dismissal on the agenda, but Kiretti later confirmed the person to be expelled is Mika Tammi. Tammi was a Left Alliance candidate in Vesilahti in the 2025 municipal elections, receiving seven votes and failing to win a council seat.
