Resurfacing on seven road sections in Pirkanmaa and Kanta‑Häme to cause delays 21–27 September
Resurfacing of seven road sections across Pirkanmaa and Kanta‑Häme will take place from 21 to 27 September, prompting temporary traffic arrangements and longer travel times.
The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Inner Finland says the work covers seven road sections across five municipalities. They are: Lempäälä (road 190, Sarvikkaantie); Tampere (road 338, Nurmi–Kolunkylä; highway 3, Lehtokulma–Mettälänkylä; and highway 3, Akaa–Toiva); Forssa (road 284, Parkkiaro–Koijärvi); Jokioinen (road 2812, Vaulammi); and Sastamala (road 2495, Ellivuori).
The agency warns that temporary traffic arrangements will cause congestion and longer journey times. Expect delays. Motorists are asked to take extra care near work sites and allow additional travel time. Roadwork locations and live updates can be checked via Fintraffic's Traffic Situation service.
Crews will return in the weeks after resurfacing to apply road markings and complete final tasks before normal speed limits can be restored. Timetables may shift because of weather or machinery breakdowns.
The work follows earlier resurfacing rounds this summer including a July resurfacing round and recent night paving that affected Tampere and Nokia in August. Aamulehti reported the schedule.
