Night Paving in Tampere and Nokia to Slow Traffic Across Pirkanmaa
Night paving and preparatory roadworks across Pirkanmaa, including Tampere and Nokia, will cause traffic restrictions and longer journeys; drivers are advised to expect delays and check Fintraffic before travelling.
Road resurfacing and preparatory work across Pirkanmaa this week will prompt traffic restrictions and longer journeys, Aamulehti reports.
The Regional Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment says crews are working in Humppila (highway 2), Hämeenlinna (highway 3) and Nokia (highway 12). Tampere (highway 9) has night shifts in several locations. Valkeakoski and Loppi are also affected, and preparatory work is under way in Janakkala (road 292) and Sastamala (road 2495).
Drivers should expect congestion, longer travel times and temporary speed limits. Final tasks such as road markings may continue for weeks after paving, and schedules can shift because of weather or equipment breakdowns. The centre urges motorists to take extra care near work sites and to check Fintraffic’s Traffic Situation service before travelling. Plan extra time for journeys.
This work follows the July 13–17 resurfacing schedule, which also listed Tampere, Nokia and Valkeakoski among affected locations.
