Sleet and icy roads possible in Tampere mid‑next week
Tampere will stay sunny this week but could turn wet by mid‑next week, with sleet and icy roads possible around Wednesday.
Helena Laakso of the Finnish Meteorological Institute told Tamperelainen that Tampere will stay sunny this week but could turn wet by mid‑next week, with sleet and slippery roads possible around Wednesday.
Daytime highs are around 7°C today with a northwest breeze and only isolated showers, but nights could dip below freezing and leave frost on roads. A rain band may bring heavier precipitation midweek, so drivers should prepare for icy patches and consider fitting winter tyres before the change.
At Koskipuisto, fisherman Mikko Kauppila said he isn’t worried. He fishes in all weather and relies on a warm wool sweater. The exact route of next week’s precipitation is still uncertain, and the forecast is not trending warmer, Laakso added.
