The first week of June in Tampere will be mixed, with patchy rain and clouds but some sun on Wednesday–Thursday and temperatures that could climb above 20°C in spots.

Tamperelainen reports that the first week of June in Tampere will bring patchy rain, clouds and a chance of warm spells, with some sun expected on Wednesday and Thursday and temperatures climbing above 20°C.

Jani Sorsa, duty meteorologist at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, says the trend is toward warmer weather and that Thursday looks most likely to be the warmest day this week.

Some spots should see sun on Wednesday and Thursday, pushing temperatures above 20°C. If showers arrive at the weekend, highs would stay nearer 20°C.

Locals are divided. Angler Niko Olkkola, 32, welcomes the rain after a dry spell in the countryside. Teacher Taina Tokkari, 44, who has just started her holiday, enjoys the heat, though her dog Siiri prefers cooler, cloudier days and retreats to dug-out cool spots at their cottage. Older residents and a regular walking group around the Old Church say the current mild, slightly cloudy weather is comfortable for outdoor activity.
