Tampere council to consider sale of central fire station to Pirkanmaa Welfare Area
Tampere City Council will meet on 19 October to decide whether to sell the central fire station and to consider amendments to this year’s city budget.
Tampere City Council will meet at 5 p.m. on 19 October at Tampere City Hall to decide whether to sell the central fire station and to consider amendments to this year’s city budget. The sale follows the Pirkanmaa Welfare Area's September decision to buy the central fire station for €6,662,500, and the meeting falls on the same day when the mayor will unveil the 2027 budget proposal.
The meeting takes place at Aleksis Kivi Street 14–16. It will be streamed live on Tampere.fi. Members of the public can watch in person in the Järvi multipurpose space on the first floor beside the café-restaurant. Councillors will review the audit committee’s evaluation of the city’s operations and finances, consider changes to this year’s budget and handle pending council initiatives. Agendas and minutes will be published for public access, and the meeting will be broadcast on Tampereen kanava.
