Tampere launches Anti‑Racism Week with art, music and community events
Tampere Public Cultural Services is staging Anti‑Racism Week from 17–21 March with exhibitions, concerts, theatre and community events across the city, including programmes in South Hervanta and a Haihara Spring Carnival.
Organised by Tampere Public Cultural Services, an Anti‑Racism Week will take place across the city from 17 to 21 March, celebrating cultural and linguistic diversity with exhibitions, concerts, theatre and community events.
The week opens on 17 March with the photo exhibition More Alike Than Different in the Lobby Gallery at Culture House Laikku, showcasing South Hervanta street artists; the show runs until 29 March. Children’s Culture Centre Rulla offers fairy tales, international musical instruments, art workshops and non‑verbal theatre from Wednesday to Sunday.
On 18 March the Neapolitan duo Ilaria & Tuomas present a musical programme that journeys from Tesoma to Naples, and author Ivan Maniraho appears at Sampola Library the same day. An Art Walk in South Hervanta on 19 March highlights electrical‑cabinet artworks painted in October 2025.
The week culminates on 20 March with the Haihara Spring Carnival at Haihara Manor — music, dance, a Filipino café, henna tattoos and family activities from Reissu‑Rulla. There will also be a Spring Bazaar at Culture House Laikku on 21 March, featuring a pop‑up art market, theatre, music and the opening of a photography exhibition.
