Tampere launches €1.9M ‘Kaikkien Tampere’ inclusion programme through 2029
Tampere is launching the Kaikkien Tampere inclusion programme with €1.9 million in 2026 funding, running through 2029, to strengthen community ties and promote equality in residents' everyday lives.
The city is launching the Kaikkien Tampere development programme citywide, backed by €1.9 million in 2026 funding and running until the end of 2029. The aim is to strengthen community ties and promote equality in everyday life for residents.
The programme implements the Tekemisen kaupunki strategy and the Meidän Tampere mayoral programme. It builds on lessons from earlier initiatives and current wellbeing and inclusion data. Mayor Ilmari Nurminen says the goal is to meet clearly identified needs and to make the work visible in residents’ daily lives by creating new opportunities to meet, participate and both give and receive support. Programme manager Jaakko Laurila, who started in early March, will focus on reinforcing existing meeting places and adding low‑threshold community spaces in city premises.
Planned actions include a new intergenerational community café in the basement of Monitoimitalo 13 opening this spring, initial planning with residents and local organisations in Hervanta, Kaukajärvi and Linnainmaa, and continued work on the Kalevanhalli Sustainable Living Centre. It will develop services such as digital support, communal meals, language learning opportunities, neighbourhood safety work and outreach cultural services, with the most effective models evaluated for long-term continuation.
