Tampere keeps Pispala Daycare and Terälähde nature school in the plan

Aamulehti reports that during a meeting in Tampere on March 10 the city’s education and early childhood committee discussed the 2026–2040 service network plan and decided to preserve Pispala Daycare at its current site and to keep the nature school in Terälähde. Deputy mayor for education Anne-Mari Jussila says the plan received substantial feedback that influenced the decisions. The proposal had previously slated the nature school to move to Järvensivu School in 2029, but the committee now intends to ask the city council to keep the nature school in Terälähde. Pispala Daycare would continue operating in its current premises, and Hennerin play activity center would move into Pispala’s facilities, with the center seeking a new space in West Tampere by 2029, the paper notes. The changes aim to safeguard the sufficiency and local accessibility of early childhood services for the Pispala area, Jussila adds.

The plan now moves to the city council for approval on April 13. Before that, the education board will also brief the high schools on March 18 and the culture, libraries, sports and youth committee on March 26, outlining how the rest of the plan will unfold.
