Tampere Named Finland's Most Attractive Region in 2026 Rankings

New rankings place Tampere at the top of regional attractiveness with a score of 3.81. Kuopio follows on 3.76, while Turku recorded the largest improvement among the cities surveyed. Anna-Kaisa Heinämäki, director of Attractiveness and Advocacy, said the city's sustained appeal stems from many factors and strong collaboration. The findings come from a study by Reputation and Trust Analytics Ltd., which looked at both how potential newcomers view cities and how residents assess their home areas. It focused on perceptions of community spirit and safety as central elements of regional reputation: the community dimension gauges whether residents are seen as friendly and doing well; the safety dimension assesses how pleasant and secure local areas feel. The report offers cities a benchmark for retention and attraction efforts as they plan future development.
