According to the City of Tampere, proposed waste tariffs for 2027 are on public display until 12 November 2026; changes are modest, with small adjustments to bio‑waste, packaging, kerbside and sludge transport fees.

According to the City of Tampere, proposed waste tariffs for 2027 are on public display and open for feedback until 12 November 2026, after the regional waste board put the proposals on view on 7 October 2026.

Overall, changes are modest. Bio-waste emptying fees would fall by as much as €4.06 in some places and rise by up to €0.44 in others. Carton packaging collection fees drop across the service area thanks to higher producer reimbursements, while plastic collection sees small increases driven by transport costs. Small metal and glass collection fees would vary by municipality and container size. Annual charges for regional waste points remain unchanged.

Local kerbside collection yearly fees would increase slightly, with an extra €2.11 for small properties and a rise of €0.05 per square metre for larger buildings. A new €1 paper-invoice surcharge is proposed; electronic invoices would remain free. Sludge transport charges would be unchanged for tanks up to six cubic metres but would rise by €1.47–€6.65 for larger tanks, with proposed transport prices for regular emptying at €121.36 (≤6 m3) and €144.68 (>6 m3), excluding VAT. The regional pneumatic tube system at Ranta-Tampella would see a 4% increase to €1.04 per floor square metre per year. The waste board’s area covers municipalities such as Tampere, Nokia and Ylöjärvi, and Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto Oy handles operational services except for Nokia’s sludge transports.

The draft follows earlier proposals to change drop-off charges to per-cubic-metre pricing the regional board’s per-cubic-metre drop-off proposal and comes amid ongoing discussion about pipe-based collection systems in Tampere, including the decision to wind down the Vuores system and the future of Ranta-Tampella the Vuores pipe-based collection decision.
