Tampere has set the speed limit on Teollisuustie to 50 km/h in both directions, removing a confusing roughly 150-metre stretch where opposing directions previously had different limits.
The change removes a roughly 150-metre stretch where opposing directions previously had different limits. That setup caused confusion for motorists exiting the southern driveway at Teollisuustie 7.
Tamperelainen reports the southern 60 km/h sign has been removed, so the speed transition now occurs at the same point in both directions.
City planning manager Ari Vandell approved the adjustment, and city officials say it will make it easier to judge oncoming speeds without materially affecting travel times.
