Police are investigating and suspect two counts of assault, but investigators have not disclosed further details. A breath test registered 3.3 per mille. One colleague's injuries required surgery, Iltalehti reported.
The National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health opened two probes in Pirkanmaa, one on professional rights and another on workplace safety. Pirkanmaa's HR director, Aija Tuimala, said rehiring would be considered on a case-by-case basis and described such incidents as rare.
The case follows earlier reporting on rising harassment and threats against Pirkanmaa wellbeing services staff, adding to concerns about staff safety in the region.
