According to the City of Tampere, streetworks on the Tesoma main road at the Ikuri–Tohloppi border will begin after Easter.
The project will require temporary and changing traffic arrangements for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists as work progresses. On the east side, next to the Käräjätörmä residential area, infill construction will take place, while a new Taimisto neighbourhood is being built on the west side. Crews will build a separated sidewalk and cycle path along the road's eastern edge and new sidewalk sections on the western edge. Plans include new pedestrian crossings and three bus stops.
A roundabout is planned at the Tuomarinkatu–Käräjätörmä junction. Traffic lights at the Tesoma main road and Myllypuronkatu intersection will be renewed. Street lighting and operator ducts will be installed south toward the Tesoma sports hall. Drainage systems will be improved and new street trees planted. Work is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2026.
