Three track switches at Hämeenlinna yard to be replaced, trains suspended 13–15 October
Three track switches at the Hämeenlinna rail yard will be replaced from 13 to 15 October, suspending train services between Riihimäki and Hämeenlinna and replacing them with buses. Passengers travelling between Tampere and Helsinki should check VR timetables.
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will replace three track switches at the Hämeenlinna rail yard from Tuesday 13 October to Thursday 15 October, interrupting services between Riihimäki and Hämeenlinna and requiring replacement buses.
Work starts on Tuesday at 06:40 and continues until Thursday at 05:40. On Tuesday trains will use a single track between Harviala and Hämeenlinna until 20:10. After that, no trains will run via Hämeenlinna until Thursday morning, with buses covering the Riihimäki to Hämeenlinna section. Passengers travelling between Tampere and the Helsinki region should check schedules and replacement-transport details on vr.fi or in the VR Matkalla app.
