Track switch works halt Riihimäki–Hämeenlinna trains; buses replace service
Track switch replacements at Hämeenlinna station will suspend train services between Riihimäki and Hämeenlinna from Oct. 13 to 15, with replacement buses covering the routes and affecting Tampere–Helsinki connections.
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will replace three track switches at Hämeenlinna station from Oct. 13 to 15. The work will suspend trains between Riihimäki and Hämeenlinna, with replacement buses covering services and Tampere–Helsinki connections affected, Tamperelainen reports.
Work starts on Tuesday Oct. 13 at 06:40 and continues until Thursday Oct. 15 at 05:40. On Tuesday trains will initially run on a single track between Harviala and Hämeenlinna until 20:10. After that, no trains will pass through Hämeenlinna until Thursday morning. Expect delays and longer journey times. Passengers can find updated timetables and details of replacement services on VR's website or the VR Matkalla app.
