Tredu to move textile training to Hervanta, media publishing to Mediapolis

Tampere region vocational college Tredu will relocate its textile and fashion training from Sammonkatu in Kaleva to Hepolamminkatu in Hervanta. Its media publishing programme will move from Hepolamminkatu to Mediapolis in Tohloppi, with the changes taking effect on 1 August 2027, Aamulehti reported.

The changes follow a review of Tredu's facilities and are meant to ease a shortage of space. They are also driven by a temporary need to house Sammon Upper Secondary School’s new Hakametsä unit after delays to the Hakametsä Sport Campus construction. About 180 first-year upper-secondary students are expected to be placed at the Sammonkatu campus under the city's temporary housing plan. Tredu currently operates 13 campuses, five in Tampere. The plan will be discussed by Tampere’s vitality and competence committee on 16 December 2026.
