Ukrainian Ensemble Nazvaa to Perform in Tampere’s Nekala on Nov 10

A Ukrainian military cultural ensemble will give a concert in Tampere's Nekala on Tuesday, November 10. The programme features the band Nazvaa alongside opera singers from Ukraine's Cultural Forces, presenting Ukrainian folk music, opera and contemporary works.

All the performers serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They have previously performed at the front, in military hospitals and for soldiers returning from captivity.

Mikko-Pekka Hanski, organiser and founder of the Finnish–Ukrainian cultural platform Solovey, said Tampere was chosen as the group's first stop in Finland because the city has a strong Ukrainian community and sister-city ties with Kyiv. The visit follows Tampere's ongoing cooperation with and support for Kyiv established earlier this year. The city has also offered prior financial aid to Ukraine including a €30,000 package.
