Volvo Trucks Launches 27-Stop Finnish Test-Drive Tour to Showcase New FH Aero Diesel and Electric Models

Volvo Trucks announced on 29 September 2026 that it will stage a nationwide test-drive tour across 27 Finnish towns from 6 Oct – 11 Nov, offering public demonstrations and test drives of two new FH Aero models, including a D13‑powered FH 560 and a long-range electric FH Aero. The series opens in Lappeenranta on 6 October and concludes in Raasepori on 11 November. Tampere is scheduled for 29 October at the Volvo Truck Center on Nuutisarankatu.

The lineup includes a Volvo FH 560 Aero 6x4 with the new D13 engine configured as a B-link combination, and a Volvo FH Aero 6x2 Electric Long Range set up as a semi-trailer outfit. The new 13‑litre D13 diesel and G13 gas engines bring higher performance and improved fuel efficiency, with upgrades such as an advanced engine brake, revised cylinders and turbochargers, plus an updated I‑Shift transmission. Antti Heinonen, product manager at Volvo Trucks, said development focused on performance, fuel efficiency and the driver's experience. "Higher torque figures, a revised engine structure and an updated I‑Shift improve vehicle performance, productivity and driving smoothness," he said.

The FH Aero Electric Long Range is rated for up to 700 kilometres on a single charge. An e-axle creates space for a larger battery, and the model is compatible with the new MCS megawatt charging system. "The FH Aero Electric Long Range combines long range, high payload, fast MCS charging and excellent driving comfort," said Janne Silvonen, Commercial and Technical Manager Electromobility at Volvo Finland. "It enables long trips throughout a working day and offers productivity comparable to diesel trucks."

Each stop includes a breakfast briefing from 8:30 – 9:30, where Volvo specialists will outline the electric trucks and the D13/G13 engines, followed by hands-on test drives from 9:30 – 16:30. Registration is available via the company's website.
