Aamulehti reports that popular Asian restaurant Whatever will open a second outlet, What The Pho, at Itsenäisyydenkatu 3 in Tammela next week.

Staff say the new spot will move quickly into the company’s former premises on the same street.

Rather than the café that had been planned, the venue will be a bowl-food concept focusing on pho, poke bowls and bibimbap. Vegan versions will be available for all dishes.

Whatever originally opened at Itsenäisyydenkatu 3 in 2021 and moved to a larger unit in the Luminary building in 2024, while keeping the old space rented out. Owner Vu Huynh told Aamulehti last year that the bigger premises and buffet service boosted turnover and allowed extra hiring. The switch to a buffet drew some criticism on social media, but the restaurant remains popular with vegetarians: about half of its lunch buffet items were vegan, and it placed fourth in Tampere in this year’s Edenred Best Lunch Spot vote.
