Ylöjärvi Padel Centre to Close After Building Sold for Automotive Use
The Ylöjärvi padel centre operated by Padel Tampere will close at the end of May when its lease expires, ending five years of operation at the western bypass site.
Padel Tampere Oy's Ylöjärvi sports hall will close when its lease ends at the end of May, bringing to a close five years of operation at the western bypass site, Aamulehti reports.
Opened in 2021, the building housed ten padel courts and a few badminton courts sublet to Syssyn Sulkis. The on-site lunch restaurant had already closed.
The property has been sold and is set to be converted for automotive-related use.
Padel Tampere still operates centres in Hervanta, Linnainmaa, Lielahti, Messukylä and Pirkkala's Linnakallio, along with outdoor courts at Tampereen Eteläpuisto. A Messukylä expansion is scheduled for 2028.
Eetu Rahkola says the company is scouting locations in West Tampere and looking at new badminton courts for 2027.
