About 120 central Tampere properties to lose heating and hot water during early-October repairs
Planned repairs will cut district heating and hot water to about 120 central Tampere properties on 4 and 6 October, affecting areas near Lapintie, Satakunnankatu and Hämeenpuisto.
Planned cuts will affect roughly 40 properties near Lapintie and Satakunnankatu and about 80 near the southern end of Hämeenpuisto, according to Aamulehti.
Tampereen Energia says the first interruption is for valve replacements. It begins Sunday at 12:00 in the Lapintie–Satakunnankatu area and is expected to last about 16 hours. The company aims to restore heat by 06:00 on Monday so residents can take morning showers.
A separate repair to a leaking district heating pipe on the edge of Hämeenpuisto will cut supply on the Kaakinmaa and Nalkala sides from about 03:00 until around 23:00 on Tuesday, the utility estimates. Jalmari Tähtinen, a company builder at Tampereen Energia, said the new valves will allow the utility to isolate faults more precisely and limit future disruption.
