Planned line repairs on 4 and 6 October will cut district heating and hot water to about 120 properties in central Tampere, Tamperelainen reports. The work follows earlier district heating renovations on Satakunnankatu and near the Cathedral.
The work is split into two outages. Valves near Lapintie and Satakunnankatu will be replaced, cutting supplies on Sunday 4 October at 12:00 for about 16 hours to roughly 40 nearby properties. The utility aims to restore service so residents can have hot morning showers by Monday 5 October at 06:00. Construction manager Jalmari Tähtinen said swapping old valves will allow the utility to isolate future faults more precisely and keep outage areas smaller.
A separate repair will replace a leaking district heating pipe along Hämeenpuisto, affecting about 80 properties in Kaakinmaa and Nalkala. That shutdown begins at 03:00 on Tuesday 6 October and is expected to last roughly 20 hours, until about 23:00, the utility said.
