Crews Start Night Paving on Arvo Ylpön katu by Kauppi Tram Terminus

Work starts today on Arvo Ylpön katu near the Kauppi campus tram terminus, covering the stretch between Teiskontie and Lääkärinkallionkatu during weeks 36–37, Tamperelainen reports. Crews will remove the old asphalt with an excavator, mill the surface and lay new asphalt layers. The work will take place overnight. The street will remain passable while traffic is directed as needed. Tampere Tram’s Pirkkala–Linnainmaa alliance says crews will try to keep disruptions to a minimum during the night shifts. The resurfacing is part of ongoing tram construction in Kauppi. It follows the reopening of the Lääkärinkallionkatu junction as the project shifts east and continues a series of night operations in the tram network, such as the earlier night operations on Hatanpään valtatie.
