Tampereen Energia to Raise District Heating Prices by 1.9% on Average in 2027
Tampereen Energia will raise district heating prices in Tampere, Pirkkala and Ylöjärvi from 2027, increasing customers' bills by about 1.9% on average.
Tampereen Energia will raise district heating prices in Tampere, Pirkkala and Ylöjärvi starting in 2027, pushing customers' annual bills up about 1.9% on average, Tamperelainen reports.
The hike affects both the energy charge and the capacity fee. For a resident in a typical apartment building the rise works out to about €0.90 per month per apartment. Row-house residents face an average increase of €1.90 per month, and detached houses heated by district heating about €3.30 per month. All prices quoted include value added tax.
Tampereen Energia said the increase is mainly driven by a general rise in cost levels that has pushed up production labour and material expenses. The company added that recent investments, including electric boilers in Lielahti and a heat recovery plant in Naistenlahti, have improved production efficiency and energy utilisation. It also said district heating price growth over the past 15 years has been more moderate than overall inflation.
The move follows similar utility adjustments. Tampereen Vesi announced water and wastewater price rises for 2027 earlier this month, and the city has reported that electrifying heating reduced regional emissions in 2024 as part of broader efforts to decarbonise heat production.
