Fimlab to Close Tesoma Lab on 30 October; New Lielahti Service Point Opens in December
Fimlab will close its Tesoma laboratory on 30 October and direct West Tampere residents to a new Lielahti service point that opens in December inside the Like shopping centre.
The Tesoma laboratory will close on 30 October, and West Tampere residents will be directed to a new Lielahti service point opening in December inside the Like shopping centre, Tamperelainen reported.
The closure follows Fimlab's May staff cuts in Tampere, which the company said were prompted by falling demand for laboratory services.
The new Lielahti location will be inside the Like shopping centre. It will offer services such as Nopsa rapid blood sampling and a machine for picking up and returning sample tubes. Fimlab Ylöjärvi will end its queue-number service for sample collection and move to appointment-only sampling. Tube pickup and return in Ylöjärvi will still be possible with a queue number or the return machine. Fimlab reminded residents that anyone in Pirkanmaa can use any Fimlab service point regardless of their home municipality.
Fimlab is a healthcare laboratory company operating more than a hundred service points across Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme, Keski-Suomi, Päijät-Häme and Pohjanmaa.
