Low-pressure system brings rain to Pirkanmaa Monday as temperatures dip to 15–17°C
A low-pressure system will bring about 10 millimetres of rain to Pirkanmaa on Monday afternoon, dropping temperatures to 15–17°C, the Finnish Meteorological Institute told Aamulehti.
Showers are expected to begin overnight in Lapland and spread south, reaching Pirkanmaa by Monday afternoon. The rain may continue into the evening and through the night.
Temperatures could top 20°C before the downpour, but will fall once the showers arrive. Southern and eastern Finland will remain warmer. By the end of the week, widespread rain should give way to drier conditions, improving views for Wednesday’s partial solar eclipse and for those hoping to spot meteors in the night sky.
The bulletin follows a forecast published earlier in the week that had predicted patchy rain and the potential for temperatures above 20°C in the region.
