Rain Band Brings Night Showers to Pirkanmaa; Sunday Winds Up to 15 m/s
A rain band from the south is expected to sweep across Pirkanmaa overnight, bringing showers mainly to southern parts and gusty northerly winds on Sunday.
A rain band moving in from the south is likely to sweep across Pirkanmaa between Saturday and Sunday night, bringing a risk of showers. Afternoon and early evening should stay mostly dry, but the chance of rain increases toward midnight.
Pauli Jokinen, the Finnish Meteorological Institute's on-duty meteorologist, told Aamulehti that the larger rain band will cut through the region overnight. Southern parts are the most likely to see rain, while northern areas may be spared or only see showers by morning; the dividing line runs roughly through the Tampere area.
Sunday will be windy, with northerly winds and gusts up to about 15 m/s that will make temperatures feel cooler. Daytime highs are expected to remain around 15 to 20 °C. The risk of showers should ease early next week, though the forecast could still change.
