An open meeting at Tampere City Hall on Tuesday 8 September will give residents the chance to question the city's leadership, Tamperelainen reports. The two-hour event, from 17:00 to 19:00, will feature Mayor Ilmari Nurminen (Social Democrats) alongside deputy mayors Jaakko Mustakallio (Greens) and Ilkka Porttikivi (Social Democrats). City council chair Kalervo Kummola (National Coalition) will also attend.
Attendance is limited to 130 people and registration via an online form is required by 1 September. The meeting will be streamed live on the Tampere Channel for those who do not register.
Advance questions can be submitted via an online form until Sunday 23 August. Guided tours of Tampere City Hall are scheduled for 12:00 and 16:00, with 15 places per tour. Coffee will be served from 16:30.
The session will be hosted by communications director Katja Kannonlahti. Staff will be on hand to assist with accessibility, and the event follows safer space principles.
The event continues the city's programme of residents' evenings, following the spring residents' evenings which drew large local turnout.
