Night Frosts Give Way as Pirkanmaa Warms for Autumn Break
Night frosts were recorded in Tottijärvi on Oct 13, but temperatures are expected to rise across Pirkanmaa during the autumn holiday week, with no further night frosts forecast.
Aamulehti reports that in Tottijärvi, car windows were iced over on the morning of Tuesday, October 13. Temperatures are expected to rise across Pirkanmaa during the autumn holiday week, with no further night frosts forecast. Rain will move in from the west on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday look wet and cloudy, and winds will shift to the south-southwest. Eero Hallavo, the Finnish Meteorological Institute's on-call meteorologist, said the sun is unlikely to make many appearances but conditions should clear on Saturday. By Sunday night the rains are expected to have moved out of the region. Any late-week sunshine will come with cooler temperatures. The forecast follows earlier reports that gusty rain and wind greeted the start of the autumn break earlier this week.
