Nighttime tram work closes citybound lane on Hatanpään valtatie, buses rerouted via Kolmionkatu (10–14 May)

Tram rails will be installed at the south end of Hatanpään valtatie during nighttime hours from 10 to 14 May, forcing a citybound lane closure between the Nuolialantie intersection and Lahdenperänkatu and rerouting vehicles via Kolmionkatu, the Tampere Tram Pirkkala–Linnainmaa Alliance said.

Work runs nights Sunday–Thursday, 20:00–06:00. During these hours the citybound lane between Nuolialantie and Lahdenperänkatu will be closed. A one-way access will open from Hatanpään valtatie into Kolmionkatu toward Lahdenperänkatu, and the Hatanpään koulu bus stop (stop 2511) will be temporarily moved to Kolmionkatu.

Daytime traffic and the bus stop return to normal between 06:00 and 20:00, although the Kolmionkatu junction will remain closed during daylight. After the detour period crews will continue paving and surface work at the Kolmionkatu–Hatanpään valtatie junction. The junction area is scheduled for completion in summer 2027; the temporary roundabout will then be removed and traffic lights installed to match the tram’s final layout.

The Tampere Tram Pirkkala–Linnainmaa Alliance says roughly two-thirds of the Pirkkala–Linnainmaa tram line construction is expected to be finished by the end of 2026. Final traffic arrangements are due in 2027, and passenger service between Sorin aukio and Partola stops and between Kauppi campus and Ruotula stops is scheduled to start in August 2028.
