Nysse's planned 2028 public transport redesign will continue to serve Lamminpää but could increase walking distances to bus stops for some residents.

Nysse's planned 2028 route network could mean longer walks to bus stops for some Lamminpää residents, according to Aamulehti. The redesign builds on a draft network that prioritises tram trunk lines and feeder buses published earlier by Nysse. It follows the wider 2028 overhaul announced in March which outlined superbus lines and other changes.

Public transport planner Leena Huhtala, writing on Nysse’s behalf in response to an opinion piece, said service will remain in Lamminpää even though the network’s structure will change and outlined concrete route ideas: west of Lamminpää the strongest connections would run on Myllypuronkatu via lines 4 and 23, while line 80 would continue through the area with its current frequency. Planners received nearly 4,000 comments during a September feedback period. That input will be combined with Nysse’s data and stakeholder views as the project moves forward.

Line 4 would offer direct trips to Lielahti, Lentävänniemi, the Tesoma swimming hall and the city centre. Line 23 would provide connections from Tesoma and Ikuri to the Hiedanranta tram stop, and line 80 would remain a direct link to the centre and Ylöjärvi.

Planning continues this autumn, with feedback reported to the public transport board in October and a decision proposal due in December. Huhtala said that for some residents, such as secondary school pupils heading to Tesoma, walking distances would remain similar in parts of Lamminpää.
