Online Map Survey Opens for Lielahti–Ylöjärvi Tram, Public Events Scheduled 9–10 September
An online map survey for the Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram line is open until 20 September 2026; public information events are scheduled in Ylöjärvi and Hiedanranta on 9–10 September.
According to the City of Tampere, an online map survey for the Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram line is open for pinpointed feedback until Sunday 20 September 2026. Preliminary street and depot plan drafts are available on the Tampere Tram website, where residents can mark comments directly on the maps.
Public information events will be held at Ylöjärvi Town Hall on Wednesday 9 September 2026 from 17:30 to 19:30, and at Hiedanranta Verstas in Tampere on Thursday 10 September 2026 at the same hours. Coffee will be served from 17:00. Each session begins with an overview of the project and its current planning status, followed by time for questions, discussion and map-based feedback at display tables.
Comments received in the survey and at the meetings will be taken into account in the project plan or later design phases where possible. The project will seek stakeholder statements in early 2027 and aims to finalise the project plan in April 2027. Detailed design is currently estimated for 2029–2031, with possible council decisions on construction at the end of 2031 and building in 2032–2035. Progress and materials are available on the Tampere Tram website.
The announcement follows earlier coverage of the meetings and the online survey.
