Residents invited to review Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram line drafts at 9–10 September public sessions
Public events in Ylöjärvi and Tampere on 9–10 September invite residents to inspect and comment on draft plans for the Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram line.
Public events in Ylöjärvi and Tampere on 9–10 September will let residents inspect and comment on draft plans for the Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram line, Tamperelainen reports. They follow earlier walking tours that introduced the route and stop options the April walking tours and build on planning work that began in 2025 the initial planning announcement.
Draft street and depot layouts will be on display in Ylöjärvi city hall's council chamber on 9 September and at the Hiedanranta workshop in Tampere on 10 September. Both sessions run 17:30–19:30. Coffee will be available from 17:00. Attendees will hear a project update, then move to map stations to ask questions, discuss details and leave feedback.
A map-based online survey for location-specific comments on walking, cycling and car arrangements is open from 7 to 20 September, and the draft plans are available on the project website. The project seeks stakeholder statements in early 2027, with a final plan due in April 2027. If approved, detailed design could run 2029–2031, with construction in 2032–2035.
