Tampere Near 16°C as Mild, Sunny Spell Heads for Pirkanmaa

Southern Finland and Pirkanmaa are set for a rainy, grey Saturday, but sunnier, milder weather arrives from Sunday into next week, with Tampere expected to reach around 16°C on Sunday afternoon, Aamulehti reports.

Next week looks warmer than normal and generally sunny, Tuukka Keränen, the on-duty meteorologist at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, said. A rain front will sweep across Finland from west to east on Tuesday, but otherwise conditions should be dry. Temperatures in southern Finland are forecast to be about 4–5°C above the seasonal average, with Thursday and Friday likely the warmest days. More than 15 degrees can very well be measured, Keränen said, though 20 is probably too much. Nights will be noticeably cooler and, if skies clear, localized frost cannot be ruled out. Sunset in Tampere is at 19:12 on Saturday and will be around 18:54 a week later as daylight shortens.
