Renovated Tampere City Hall opens for public tours on Tampere Day
Renovated Tampere City Hall will be open to the public on Saturday 3 October for Tampere Day, with visits to the Council Chamber and Birger Kaipiainen’s Orvokkimeri relief available from 10:00–15:00.
According to the City of Tampere, on Saturday 3 October, the renovated City Hall will be open to the public as part of Tampere Day.
The public opening follows the building's refurbishment and recent reopening as a community hub reported in June, which included a new customer service lobby and the Viistokatu café announced earlier.
Visitors can see the Council Chamber and Birger Kaipiainen’s Orvokkimeri relief from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Old Town Hall, on the edge of Central Square, will offer guided tours on Saturday 3 October and Sunday 4 October. Advance registration opens at noon on 15 September and each tour is limited to 25 participants.
Guided visits to the city archives in Hervanta are available by advance sign-up. Organisers can submit Tampere Day events via the Tampere Event Calendar until noon on 28 September; accepted events will appear on the event calendar and the Tampere Day website. Organisers are asked to follow their own safer space principles.
