Updated 8.4 m² Scale Model of Tampere City Centre Opens at Siluetti for Tampere Day

The City of Tampere says a newly updated 8.4 m² scale model of Tampere’s city centre is on display at Siluetti for Tampere Day, giving residents the chance to inspect current construction and planned developments. The exhibit is part of an open doors event where planning specialists are available to discuss transport, parks, streets and both master and detailed planning.

The display shows existing buildings in white and future proposals in yellow. The model is refreshed annually to reflect the latest projects. Visitors can drop in without a fixed programme. Children can join building activities, and the first 100 guests will be offered coffee. No appointment is needed.

Eliisa Haanpää, a public participation designer, says the event encourages relaxed, unhurried conversations and welcomes questions from both non-specialists and professionals. Tampere Tram is also taking part. The exhibition is hosted at Siluetti in the former bus station at Hatanpään valtatie 7.

The model complements other Tampere Day and public engagement events, including the recently renovated City Hall tours that opened earlier this month, and follows recent public consultations such as the Lielahti–Ylöjärvi tram draft display held in September.
