The Sorin aukio tram stop in central Tampere will be closed from 1 to 8 June while crews electrify a tram switch on Hatanpään valtatie, Nysse said. The work is temporary and essential for the track's electrification.
Passengers can walk from Koskipuisto to Sorin aukio in roughly 500–600 metres — about a seven-minute walk. Riders on tram line 3 can also reach the square by transferring to nearby bus services, including lines 2 and 6 and regional line 7 at stops such as Tulli, Hakametsä and Sammonaukio; allow a little extra time for those connections.
The summer timetable begins on 1 June as well. The disruption will not affect Koskipuisto timetables or the operation of tram line 1, and summer services and specific schedules are available in Nysse's route planner.
Bus routes in the area will not be affected. Maps of pedestrian routes around Sorin aukio and further details about the work are available on the Tampere Tram website.
Check timetables before travelling and factor in extra transfer time during the closure week. Information on alternative boarding points and walking routes is published online to help passengers plan their journeys.
