Tampere invites entrepreneurs to shape downtown traffic plans for 2027

According to the City of Tampere, Tampere is launching open meetings for local entrepreneurs and company representatives to discuss the city centre’s traffic system and the priority measures planned for 2027.
The new format is designed to increase direct dialogue between businesses and municipal decision-makers, said Jaakko Mustakallio, chair of the economic policy committee and Deputy Mayor. The first session will focus on the overall downtown traffic system and the key actions planned for 2027. After a brief presentation, entrepreneurs will have time to respond, join a wider discussion and provide business updates.
"We want to renew our way of operating and create from the open theme meetings a continuous way to hold direct dialogue between companies and the city. In the meetings entrepreneurs and company representatives have the opportunity to hear about current plans and, above all, bring their own views into the discussion," he said.
Mirka Lahti, entrepreneur and chair of Tampere entrepreneurs, welcomed the initiative, saying early involvement gives officials vital information on business needs and helps companies understand municipal perspectives. Participation is open to Tampere businesses. Advance registration is required.
The meetings build on recent mobility work, including the citywide mobility programme launched in October to increase everyday movement and improve transport services.
