Tizza Oy has installed a 24/7 pizza vending machine in Koskikeskus's main lobby, allowing customers to order and receive a freshly prepared pizza via touchscreen payment in minutes.

Petri Löppönen's company Tizza Oy has opened a 24/7 pizza vending machine in the main entrance lobby of Koskikeskus on Hatanpään valtatie.

Customers choose a pizza on a touchscreen, pay at an integrated card terminal and receive a freshly prepared pizza from the machine in a few minutes. Löppönen is a long-time figure in Tampere's restaurant scene; he has run outlets such as Crazy Horse, Cow, Harald, Bricks, Esperanza and Tabu. He says rising ingredient costs, taxes, energy bills and rents have pushed him to explore automated solutions.

The custom-built, brandable unit is currently optimized for pizza but can be adapted to produce other take-away items. Löppönen plans to roll the concept out to suitable 24/7 locations across Finland, the Nordics and the Baltics as a turnkey option for aspiring robot-pizzeria operators, Tamperelainen reported.

The launch follows other local experiments with round-the-clock food and retail services, including a 24/7 trial at K-Market Haukiluoma in West Tampere and the Viinikka kiosk's reopening as a year-round late-night grill.
