Touhula to open sport-themed daycare with gym hall in Kaleva in March 2027
Touhula will open a sport-themed daycare, Touhula Kiovanpuisto, at Uimalankatu 3 in Kaleva in early March 2027. The centre will have six child groups across three floors and its own outdoor play yard.
The daycare will be housed on the ground floor of a new apartment block at Uimalankatu 3 and accommodate six child groups across three floors, with its own outdoor play yard and a communal gym hall in the basement. It will operate Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 17:00. Aamulehti reported.
"The daycare is located in an excellent spot with good transport connections. The Kaleva area strongly supports sport-themed early childhood education, as there are many nearby places for outdoor activities, hiking and movement," development director Ira Häggström said in a Touhula press release.
Applications are open on the Touhula Kiovanpuisto website. The company plans to recruit early childhood teachers, child carers and a daycare assistant, with job postings due in early 2027.
Tampere already hosts six Touhula daycares. The opening follows other recent childcare projects in the region, including Sunshine's bilingual daycare planned for Hervantajärvi and the Kirsi Kunnaksen daycare that opened in Ylöjärvi in March.
