Traffic lights will replace a temporary roundabout on Nuolialantie in Partola on 2 November, with the new signals starting to flash yellow from 30 October.

Traffic lights will be activated on Nuolialantie at the Naistenmatkantie and Pereentie intersections in Partola on Monday, 2 November, and the temporary roundabout between Nuolialantie and Naistenmatkantie will be removed, Tampereen Ratikan Pirkkala–Linnainmaa -allianssi said.

The new signals will begin flashing a yellow light on Friday, 30 October. All turning lanes at both intersections will be opened, and traffic along Naistenmatkantie will follow the final roadway arrangements already in place.

The change follows earlier work to install permanent signals and reroute traffic in Partola. Naistenmatkantie saw permanent traffic lights put into use in October as street works neared completion, and crews recently shifted tram construction onto the centre of Nuolialantie, prompting temporary reroutes earlier this month.

Work on Nuolialantie continues with finishing touches to pedestrian and cycle path surfaces. The alliance expects the bulk of the track and street works in the area to be complete by the end of the year, and the new tram street Damaskitie, which connects Kenkätie and Naistenmatkantie, is due to be finished during the year.

Construction will shift toward Kenkätie and the area around the Partola tram stop. Tracks and street areas will be built on Kenkätie late this autumn and into next year, and plans include a new public square adjacent to the Partola stop. Overhead contact lines are scheduled for installation along the tramway next year.

Final driving and pedestrian routes for the full tramway are planned to come into effect during 2027. Passenger service between Kauppi campus and Ruotula stops and between Sori Square and Partola stops is scheduled to begin in August 2028. The Partola block is overseen by project manager Teemu Niemi for the alliance.
