A new 12-kilometre section called Tuskien taival links Haukkajärvi with Iso Poikainlampi and Löyttyjärvi, creating about a 23-km loop in Helvetinjärvi National Park with new lakeside rest sites, shelters and services.

A new 12-kilometre trail section called Tuskien taival now links Haukkajärvi with Iso Poikainlampi and Löyttyjärvi, creating a roughly 23-kilometre circuit, Tamperelainen reports.

The route can be completed as a loop by returning along the park's northern side or via Helvetinkoulu. Arto Pummila of Metsähallitus's Nature Services says the route's name reflects the demanding elevation changes.

New lakeside rest sites at Iso Poikainlampi and Löyttyjärvi include a campfire area and a lean-to shelter. There are also a firewood shed, a vault toilet and dedicated tenting spots with lake views from the shelters.

The trail is temporarily marked on the ground with blue fibre ribbon; permanent signs and waymarkers will be installed later.

Route descriptions and maps are available on the Helvetinjärvi website and can be downloaded to the Luontoon app for offline use.
