Around 50 local businesses will take part in Tammela's first community street festival on Saturday 5 September, Aamulehti reports.
Visitors can expect restaurants, cafés, bars, specialty shops and service providers. They will offer workshops, special offers, open-door events and yoga sessions. In the evening, The Jack Flash Band performs at the Pitkän päivän ilta restaurant.
The idea came from coworking entrepreneur Elina Eskola in February. She recruited partners Kajsa Ekmark and Erkki Eskola to help run the day. The organisers originally expected 20–30 participants but interest swelled to about 50, and they hope to make Tammela Day an annual fixture. Nearby Tracon 2026 at Tampere-talo is expected to bring extra foot traffic that same weekend, and the festival joins a packed festival weekend in Tampere that already features major events elsewhere in the city.
